Olivia Hodgson

  'Calculated' Olivia Hodgson had an 'inappropriate' relationship with prisoner Lavarne Forde-Morgan while he was behind bars for murder. But the 26-year-old's sordid ordeal was only exposed when pictures of the pair were uncovered in her home. She even smuggled mobiles into jail so the pair could share illicit messages.

Kerianne Stephens

  A female prison officer who became pregnant from an illicit affair with a serving convicted murderer has been spared jail. Kerianne Stephens, 26, was employed at HMP Swaleside on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent when she had a sexual relationship with lifer Louis Tate. The pair also exchanged phone calls and text messages via an illegally-held mobile later found in Tate's cell. Maidstone Crown Court heard the affair led to Stephens giving birth to her daughter in June 2019 with Tate confirmed as the child's father.

Emma Webster

  A former HMP Lincoln operational support grade (OSG) prison officer who sent sexually explicit photos of herself to two inmates has been jailed for 14 months. Mum-of-two Emma Webster, 34, of Ermine East, Lincoln, admitted one charge of misconduct in public office between August 18, 2021 and November 14, 2021 at a hearing at Lincoln Crown Court in August this year. She was sentenced at the crown court on October 26. The court heard that Webster was just seven months into the job at the prison when she struck up a relationship with prisoner Bradley Brammall and talked with him on a pay as you go phone. She also gave him her cousin's postal address to receive letters from him. They spoke by phone 17 times between August and October 2021 and the conversations that August included talking about masturbation and having sex. Lauren McIntyre

  Lauren McIntyre, 32, engaged in a sexual relationship with a man serving life for the brutal killings of his girlfriend and their baby daughter. Her fling with Andrew Roberts, who was jailed in 2003 after he murdered 23-year-old Louise L’Homme and their 10-month-old daughter Tia in Tylorstown, Rhondda , took place in 2018 when he was serving time in a prison on the Isle of Wight. McIntyre also provided Roberts with the personal mobile number of another prison officer knowing he intended to assault her colleague with whom she had also had an affair. She failed to raise the alarm about the assault meaning the officer "fell into a trap" and received significant head injuries in the attack at the hands of Roberts.

Katie Loxton

  Katie Loxton, 27, was a serving prison custody officer at HMP Oakwood in   Staffordshire   when she first came into contact with prisoner Adam Higgs. Loxton would spend a large portion of her time on the block in which Higgs, 32, was housed, which concerned a number of officers working there at the time according to Staffordshire Police. When asked about it by staff, Loxton reportedly denied any wrongdoing with Higgs. However, police say that after carrying out some checks, it soon became clear that the pair had bypassed the security system inside the prison and were communicating with one another through a fake contact which they had set up through Higgs’ telephone in his cell.

Aisha Golsby

  A former prison officer who tipped off a prisoner at HMP Portland about a cell search has been jailed. Aisha Golsby, aged 23, had become romantically involved with Deano Harrison, who had been jailed for robbery and drug dealing. Between June 2021 and March 2022, prison officer Golsby communicated with Harrison over social media and texts using two different mobile phones. She neglected to report Harrison was in possession of the phones, despite it being mandatory for prison staff to do so. Between January 28 and January 29, 2022, Golsby tipped off Harrison about an upcoming cell search knowing he was in possession of the phones.

Stephanie Smithwhite

  A prison officer who became obsessed with drug kingpin Curtis Warren ruined her life by getting into a relationship with him. Stephanie Smithwhite and 56-year-old Warren regularly began having sex and secret trysts while he was serving time behind bars. The pair quickly became infatuated with each other and continued their relationship for six months while she was supposed to be responsible for Warren's security and supervision. Smithwhite became so besotted she got a tattoo of his name on her body, next to a rose. She even allegedly cut a hole in her trousers so the pair could have quick intercourse whenever the mood would strike. It was only when other officers became suspicious that the sordid affair came to an end, and Smithwhite was investigated for misconduct in a public office.

Sarah Williams

  Investigations into Sarah Williams, 38, of Kingsway, Widnes, started in early 2020 when Altcourse prison received information that she was involved in relationships with multiple prisoners. Cell searches were later carried out and mobile phones were recovered, which found Williams had been communicating with inmates. The investigation was referred to the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit's anti-corruption department, who arrested Williams at her home on July 8, 2020 for misconduct in a public office. On Thursday, December 21 2023 Williams was jailed for 18 months at Liverpool Crown Court after pleading guilty to three counts of Misconduct in Public Office, and one count of causing a computer to perform a function with intent to secure unauthorised access to data.

Shania Begum was caught having sex with an inmate in a store cupboard.

  A HMP Birmingham prison officer was caught having sex with an inmate in a store cupboard. Shania Begum was put under surveillance after arousing suspicions at the jail in Winson Green. A covert camera was installed in a store cupboard which subsequently filmed her behaviour with prisoner Joshua Mullings escalate from flirting and 'heavy petting' to full sexual intercourse. She ignored her work radio going off while she was with him and on one occasion she was interrupted by a colleague who said she had been gone for an hour. The 25-year-old claimed she felt 'cherished' by Mullings at a time when she had been arranged to be married to another man who was said to be 'controlling'. Begum of Hurleybrook Way in Telford admitted misconduct in a public office. She sobbed in the dock at Birmingham Crown Court where she was jailed for 16 months on January 11, 2024.

  A prison officer has avoided being sent to jail herself after having sex with a convicted rapist up to 40 times while on duty. Cherri-Ann Austin-Saddington became besotted with 'exceptionally dangerous' sex offender Bradley Trengrove after he was moved to HMP The Verne on Portland, Dorset The court heard the pair embarked on a six-month affair which involved them often having intercourse in prison workshops while nobody was around. The 29-year-old prison warden even got pregnant by Trengrove, although she later lost the baby. During the relationship Austin-Saddington smuggled a mobile phone into the Category C prison for her lover so they could communicate. A court heard the mother-of-three saved his name in her mobile under 'husband to be'. When Trengrove, 31, was moved to another prison she visited him using a fake name. Female prison officer arrested for ‘sex with inmate’

  Footage of the guard and male prisoner was shared with prisoners at HMP Five Wells, Northamptonshire, the Sun newspaper reported. A spokesperson for the jail said: “A prison custody officer has been suspended and arrested by Northamptonshire Police on suspicion of misconduct in a public office. “It would be inappropriate to comment further while they investigate.” HMP Five Wells is run privately by operator G4S. Earlier this year, prison officer Linda De Sousa Abreu, 30, pleaded guilty to misconduct after having sex with an inmate in a cell inside HMP Wandsworth in south London. A police investigation was launched after officers were made aware of a video filmed inside the jail.

  The Metropolitan Police said a woman was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office on Friday after officers were made aware of the video reportedly filmed inside HMP Wandsworth. The force added: “She has been taken into police custody. Enquiries continue. “We remain in close contact with the Ministry of Justice.” A Prison Service spokesperson said: “Staff corruption is not tolerated and the former prison officer allegedly featured in this video has been reported to the police. “It would be inappropriate to comment further while they investigate.”

Female prison officer whose fling with inmate was caught on bodycam learns fate

  A senior female   prison  officer has avoided jail after having a fling with a drug dealer inmate who thought she was his "fairytale ending". Tracy Boateng, 27, was arrested after colleagues found footage on her body-worn camera of her posing for a selfie with Vincent Ojo, Snaresbrook   Crown Court  was told. A laughing Boateng could be heard telling the heroin dealer to say "cheese" as she held up two fingers while Ojo stuck his tongue out. Other clips caught Boateng using sexualised language with the prisoner and  hugging and kissing him in a jail office,  the court heard. The mother of a three-month-old daughter appeared in  court  on Monday to be sentenced for a single count of misconduct in a public office. Footage of the female guard and male prisoner was shared with other inmates at the privately run HMP Five Wells, the Sun newspaper reported. Prison officer jailed over affair with inmate

  A prison officer who admitted having an intimate relationship with an inmate after she "proper fell in love with him" has been jailed. At one point, Morgan Farr Varney, 24, of West Avenue, Stainforth, was captured on CCTV entering a cupboard with the prisoner at HMP Lindholme, near Doncaster, a court heard. A later search of the inmate's cell found love letters from the officer, who had worked at the Category C jail since April 2022. Farr Varney pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office at Sheffield Crown Court on 16 April and was sentenced to 10 months in jail at the same court on Friday. The court had previously been told that after joining HM Prison Service as an officer, Farr Varney entered a training programme involving anti-corruption, as well as input on conditioning from inmates and how to spot it.   A prison officer who had an "inappropriate relationship" with an inmate has been sentenced after admitting misconduct. North West Regional Organised Crime Unit said a prisoner at HMP Altcourse spoke Kate Southern on a prison phone, using a call divert number and a fake name. The 26-year-old, of Whiston in Liverpool, went on to bring him food and drink into the prison and accepted money from him to buy herself flowers and a hotel stay between December 2021 and January 2022. She pleaded guilty to misconduct in a public office at Liverpool Crown Court and was given a 16-month sentence, suspended for two years, and ordered to do 125 hours of unpaid work.
